Precision Extrusion Solutions: Custom Screws, Barrels & Core Components
Engineered for maximum wear resistance, continuous high output, and long-term operational reliability — backed by 26 years of heavy industry experience.

"At BLOOM, we don't ship replacement parts — we engineer metallurgical solutions for the toughest compounding and extrusion problems our customers face. After 26 years on the shop floor, I've learned that the difference between a screw that lasts 8 months and one that lasts 4 years isn't the brand on the box. It's the match between the steel, the geometry, and the polymer running through it. That match is what we build for you."Kara — Founder & CEO, BLOOM Extrusion Components
Our Specialized Engineering Services
Conical Twin Screws
Custom conical twin screws optimized for highly filled PVC compounding and demanding polymer profile extrusion. Using 3D CAD modeling, we tune flight geometry and compression ratio to your raw materials — ensuring complete plasticization and stable output.

Conical twin barrels machined to precise geometric tolerances for perfect alignment with your screws. To fight abrasive wear and chemical corrosion, we offer deep-layer gas nitriding and centrifugally-cast bimetallic alloy liners that dramatically extend service life.
Request a Conical Barrel QuoteHigh-Torque Splined Shafts & Extrusion Moulds
Forged splined transmission shafts engineered to withstand the torsional stress of high-output compounding. Combined with in-house extrusion die development, we offer a complete tooling workflow that locks in dimensional accuracy on your final product.
Request a Shaft & Mould QuoteModular Screw Elements (Co-Rotating)
Conveying, kneading, and mixing elements compatible with all major co-rotating twin-screw platforms (Coperion ZSK, Berstorff ZE, KraussMaffei, JSW, etc.). For severe-wear duty such as glass-fiber compounds or carbon-black masterbatch, we forge elements from high-vanadium powder metallurgy steel (CPM 10V).
Request a Screw Element QuoteReplaceable Wear-Resistant Barrel Liners
Bimetallic liners and sleeves provide a cost-efficient way to rebuild heavily worn processing zones. Machined and shrink-fitted into your existing barrel housing, these liners restore wear resistance at roughly 30–40% of the cost of a full barrel replacement.

| Treatment | Typical Hardness | Effective Depth | Best For | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Precision Gas Nitriding | HV 900–1050 (≈ HRC 65–69) | 0.40–0.70 mm | Standard PVC, PP, PE, ABS extrusion | $ |
| Centrifugal Bimetallic Casting | HRC 58–65 | ≈ 2.0 mm fused alloy layer | Filled compounds, glass fiber, CaCO₃ | $$ |
| CPM 10V Powder Metallurgy | HRC 60–63 | Through-hardened | Carbon black, abrasive masterbatch, long fiber | $$$ |
| Tungsten Carbide (WC) Inlay | HRC 70+ | 3–5 mm overlay | Extreme abrasion + corrosion combined | $$$$ |
Hardness values are typical post-treatment ranges. Certified final values are supplied with each shipment's QC report.
Field Results: What Our Customers Have Seen
PVC Window Profile Extruder
Customer was replacing nitrided conical screws every 11 months due to CaCO₃ wear at the metering zone. We switched them to bimetallic-lined barrels paired with CPM 10V flight inserts. Service life on the metering zone has now passed 28 months and is still running.
Glass-Fiber Reinforced PA66 Compounder
Existing 35 mm kneading blocks were lasting ~1,800 hours under 40% glass loading. Our CPM 10V elements, fitted as drop-in replacements on a Coperion ZSK 35, are tracking past 4,400 hours with no measurable flight wear.
Carbon Black Masterbatch Line
Customer was running 4 sets of standard tool-steel elements per year. After switching to our high-vanadium PM elements, annual consumption dropped to 1 set, with downtime per changeover cut from 6 hours to 90 minutes.
